Workshop on

Fractal Analysis

September, 11 - 17, 2005, in Stockhausen/Eisenach (Germany)



First Announcement


The Graduate College "Approximation and Algorithms" and the Junior Research Team "Fractal Analysis" of the Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena will host a workshop on "Fractal Analysis" in Eisenach (Thuringia).

It is our intention to concentrate on the recent analysis on fractals and on quasi-metric spaces, especially in connection with the corresponding theory of function spaces. Stochastical aspects should be included.

  1. Lectures
    The programme of the conference consists of invited main lectures and short communications given by the participants.

    Please indicate your intention to give a talk and do not forget to send us your abstract in the enclosed (preliminary) registration form ! There will be an opportunity for ad hoc -seminars.

  2. Venue
    The Conference will take place in Winter's Landhotel Eisenach in Stockhausen situated in a beautiful countryside only a few minutes away from Eisenach.

    Eisenach is near the former border between West Germany and East Germany and can easily be reached by train from Frankfurt. There is one of the most famous German castles, the Wartburg. It is also well known by its famous son J.S. Bach.

  3. Costs
    The accommodation is arranged at the hotel in single and double rooms with full board (buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner). The price is 85 € per night and person in a single room and 71 € per night and person in a double room. The conference fee is 50 €.
  4. Registration
    If you are interested please complete the preliminary registration form and return it to us

    before March 31, 2005.

    Alternatively (and preferably), you can also pre-register online.

 

The second announcement with further details will be mailed until the end of April 2005.
