Recommended knowledge

• Basic lectures in analysis and linear algebra, and depending on the student's interest, knowledge in one of the following topics
• Introduction to numerical analysis
• Numerical analysis of PDEs or ODEs

• Allgemeines
 
  
• 1) In der ersten Sitzung werden Projektthemen vergeben (17. Oktober 2024). 
• 2) Die Vorträge werden an der Tafel gehalten und dauern 60 Minuten. 
• 3) Allerspätestens eine Woche vor Ihrem Vortrag sollten Sie unbedingt zur thematischen Abstimmung Rücksprache halten und können auch bereits eine Skizze Ihrer Ausarbeitung vorlegen. Ohne eine solche Vorbesprechung besteht die Gefahr, dass Sie Ihr Thema verfehlen. 
• 4) Bis 14. Februar 2025, müssen Sie eine schriftliche Ausarbeitung Ihres Vortrags vorlegen. Abgaben bitte handschriftlich oder maschinengeschrieben in LaTeX. Die Ausarbeitung sollte den Inhalt Ihres Vortrags widerspiegeln und ggf. um Illustrationen oder Einordnung des Themas erweitert werden.   
• 5) Richtwert: 5 Seiten Text, je nach Thema. Sie geben Ihre Ausarbeitung mit unterschriebener Selbstständigkeitserklärung im Sekretariat (Ernst-Abbe-Platz 2, Zimmer 3505) oder direkt bei mir ab. Die papierlose Abgabe im pdf-Format via E-Mail ist ebenfalls möglich (christos.pervolianakis@uni-jena.de). 
• 6) Bei allen Themen aus den Lehrwerken können optional einen Programmieranteil absolvieren, der sich nur positiv auf Ihre Note auswirken wird.
• 7) Der Beginn der Vorträge erfolgt je nach Teilnehmerzahl am 09.01.2025.
• 8) Die Präsentation und der Abschlussbericht können wahlweise auf Deutsch oder Englisch erfolgen.
• 9) Zwischen dem 24.10. und 19.12. finden keine Vorlesungen statt.

• 11) Jeden Donnerstag, gibt es von 09:00-12:00 Uhr eine Sprechstunde, Ernst-Abbe-Platz-2, Zimmer 3533

• General
 
• 1) Project topics will be assigned in the first session (October 17, 2024).
• 2) The presentations will be held on the blackboard and will last 60 minutes.
• 3) At the very latest, one week before your presentation, you should consult me on the presentation material and can also submit an outline of your draft. Without such a preliminary discussion, there is a risk that you will miss your topic.
• 4) You must submit a written outline of your presentation (final report) by February 14, 2025. Please submit handwritten or typewritten in LaTeX. The paper should reflect the content of your presentation and, if necessary, be expanded to include illustrations or a classification of the topic.
• 5) Guideline: 5 pages of text, depending on the topic. You hand in your work with a signed declaration "Selbstständigkeitserklärung" to the secretary (Ernst-Abbe-Platz 2, Room 3505) or directly to me. Paperless submission in PDF format via e-mail is also possible (christos.pervolianakis@uni-jena.de).
• 6) For all topics from the textbooks, you can optionally complete a programming exercise, which will only have a positive effect on your grade.
• 7) The start of the presentations will be in 09.01.2025.
• 8) The presentation and the final report can be either on German or English. 
• 9) Between 24.10 and 19.12, there will be no lectures.
