Welcome! You have reached the home page of the
Bio Systems Analysis Research Group at the
Friedrich Schiller University Jena,
Department of Mathematics and Computer Science.
The group is member of the
The aim of our group is to apply and to develop new computational
methods in order to understand complex dynamical phenomena found in living
systems. A specific focus is on constructive dynamical systems, where
new components can appear, which may change the dynamics of the whole
system. Furthermore we apply this knowledge to construct organic systems.

The group has been initially funded by the BMBF (Federal Ministry of Education and
Research of Germany), grant 0312704A, as part of the
JCB.
Further funding is provided by the European Union, the DFG (German
Research Foundation), the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) and the RLS (Rosa-Luxemburg Foundation). Since October 2008 a PhD project funded by the JSMC (Jena School for Microbial Communication) is located in the group
