Institution
The Numerical Optimisation Center, Hatfield Polytechnic

Year
1988

Abstract
It is shown how the extended operations set of Ada can be used to allow automatic differentiation to be specified in a natural way. This is then applied to solving optimisation problems using the truncated Newton method, see [Dixon1986TTG].
