Differentiation in Pascal-SC: Type GRADIENT

- Article in a journal -

Author(s)
Louis B. Rall

Published in
ACM Transactions on Mathematical Software

Year
1984

Abstract
The author shows how first order parital derivatives can be generated automatically using the language PASCAL--SC. The form data structures used in the language are given, as well as the source code. The resulting code is tested on the solution of nonlinear systems of equations using Newton's method. The numerical example given is a simple 4 variable problem.
